RESIDENT BULLETIN

Special update from the Downtown Albany BID
SUPPORT NOW, SAVOR LATER
Downtown businesses need your support now, so you have something to savor later. To offer another opportunity to support your favorite restaurants and retailers, we've launched Support Now, Savor Later.

Online gift certificate purchases are available to more than two dozen Downtown restaurants and retailers, and when you purchase through us it means 100% of the proceeds go right to the business (because we're covering the credit card fees!). Learn more and start supporting here.
CELEBRATING FIRST RESPONDERS & FRONTLINERS
Know a nurse, transportation employee, grocery store worker, EMT or any other first responder or frontline worker who deserves to be honored? As part of Celebrating First Responders & Frontliners, each day in May we'll pick one nominee to receive a $50 gift certificate. Bonus: all nominees are entered to win a gift card prize pack. Learn more here.
MOTHER'S DAY
Mother's Day will look a little different this year, but that won't keep us from celebrating mom! Downtown restaurants and retailers are here to help you honor these wonderful women with options for those quarantined together or physically separated (brunch over Zoom? socially distanced spa day? gift card today for a later bouquet?). View all Mother's Day meals and deals here.
MAYOR SHEEHAN CALLS ON RESIDENTS TO JOIN AID ADVOCACY EFFORTS
Mayor Kathy Sheehan has called on City residents to join her advocacy efforts in the face of a projected revenue shortfall of $17-to-$20 million as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Mayor Sheehan asked residents to call on U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and President Donald Trump to provide direct federal aid to state and local governments – aid that is not only necessary to maintain vital municipal services but is critical to reopening the economy. To view the video message from Mayor Sheehan, please visit the City’s Facebook page.
