Jillian's Building Purchased by Restaurant Owner

Restaurant owner Chris Pratt and business partners purchased the former Jillian's building in downtown Albany for $855,000. The sale closed Friday. New York Business Development Corp. is the previous owner of the building. Learn more.

Real estate developers who are seeking permission to build 100 upscale apartments near a federal office building in downtown Albany, New York have acquired the 1.4-acre acre property for $750,000. Learn more.
 

Expressway in Albany Getting $22.4M in Repairs

The South Mall Expressway will undergo $22.4 million worth of repairs starting this month and running through 2018. One of the primary routes connecting commuters to the Empire State Plaza, the expressway carries routes 9 and 20 and connects the Plaza, Interstate 787, the Dunn Memorial Bridge and downtown Albany. Wine & Dine for the Arts Raises $128,000

The Albany Chef's Wine & Dine for the Arts, a three-day event held in downtown Albany each year, held a check presentation ceremony last week. During the event, at which they gave funds to area arts organizations, it was announced that this year's event raised $128,000 bringing the seven year total to $662,000. See photos.

Dramatic Soprano Making ASO Debut

Preeminent dramatic soprano Deborah Voigt will make her Albany Symphony Orchestra debut with a concert performance of “Roscoe,” the new Evan Mack opera based on the William Kennedy novel, scheduled for 7:30 PM on Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Palace Theatre. Learn more.
