Thank you for subscribing to the Pink newsletter, which reaches more than 180,000 subscribers every other week. In each issue, we offer one short Pinkcast video and one recommendation for a book, film, podcast, publication, tool, or product.

PINKCAST 4.28. This is how to take notes and capture ideas like a pro.

I’m a habitual, even obsessive, note-taker. But earlier this year, I read a book that changed the way I think about this lifelong practice.

In Building a Second Brain (Public library | Amazon | BN | Bookshop), Tiago Forte suggests that we view ourselves not just as takers of notes — but as givers of notes to our future selves. When we approach the task like that, our notes become monumentally more useful.

But how do we build a note-taking habit — and what tools should we use for its construction?

That’s the question Tiago and I answer in the latest Pinkcast.

BOOK UPDATE: Uh, it’s an honor just to be nominated!

The Power of Regret has begun landing on several lists of 2022's best books. But the list I care about perhaps the most is one selected by readers.

Good Reads just announced its nominees for the Best Nonfiction Book of 2022, a title that will be bestowed by readers around the world. If you’re so inclined, feel free to visit the site and vote for the Pink book with a teal cover. While you’re there, check out the other great titles, which will fill the holes in your holiday shopping list.
