1. GET INVOLVED
Are you interesting in making new friends at the conference and getting involved with NAGAP at the same time? For many, their first step toward leadership within the organization was getting involved at the conference.
Sign up to volunteer. We need help with registering attendees, coordinating events, among other things. There is still time to sign up to become a Moderator and/or a Recorder for sessions at the upcoming conference.
Brief descriptions about the roles and responsibilities of each position are included in the Orientation PowerPoint. There will be a table next to registration with available opportunities.
2. PRINT YOUR OWN HANDOUTS
NAGAP is going green! As part of our “Go Green” efforts, NAGAP will continue to offer handouts and PowerPoint presentation handouts online only. You are responsible for visiting the Precis Online Itinerary Planner
located on the NAGAP Conference website
to print out or save the handouts of the sessions you would like to attend.
This allows you the opportunity to review the presentation materials before you leave for the conference and select the sessions that will best meet your needs.
You can also set your own schedule in the Conference App...more on that below!
All efforts were made to secure handouts prior to the conference and those presentations received by the posted deadline are located on the website. Updated handouts will also be available online after the conference for all sessions.
3. WHAT TO PACK
Most attendees prefer to wear casual/business casual attire during the day. Keep in mind that the conference session rooms may be air-conditioned and will most likely be chilly so please dress appropriately. In April, Nashville has an average high temperature of 71˚F and an average low of 48˚F.

5. TRANSPORTATION TO THE HOTEL
The hotel in downtown Nashville. Taxi service runs approximately $25.00 to the hotel, with a $1 surcharge for additional passengers.

To locate the Jarmon counter upon arrival at the airport, proceed to the escalator for level two to claim your luggage. Upon collecting your luggage take the escalator down to the bottom level which is ground transportation. Proceed toward the main doors, but do not go out the doors. Look to your right before you exit the doors and you will see the Jarmon counter.

When you register, you will receive a welcome packet containing your badge, program book and other pertinent information.
Your badge is required for admittance to all events, including educational sessions. Be sure to wear it at all times.
7. PRE-REGISTRATION ROSTERS
The Directory of Conference Attendees and Sponsors/Exhibitors, and the Pre-Registration Roster for the Pre-Conference Institute (PCI) are provided for you online only.
These two separate Attendee Rosters are now posted on the NAGAP members only website.

You can review these lists at your convenience and/or download them and bring them along with you to the conference. No hard copies will be available on-site.

8. STAY CONNECTED
Guidebook Conference App
NAGAP has gone mobile! We encourage you to download the mobile guide to enhance your experience at the 2016 Conference. You will be able to plan your day with a personalized schedule (including alerts), browse attendees, exhibitors and sponsors, view maps, event menus, post pictures and access Twitter feeds.
The app is compatible with iPhones, iPads, iPod Touches and Android devices. Windows Phone 7 and Blackberry users can access the same information via our mobile site at m.guidebook.com.
To get the guide, choose one of the methods below:

After the conference, we’ll compile a full list of all conference takeaways for attendees. We will also have a Twitter Giveaway each day. Tweet what you learn in sessions using #NAGAPLearns for a chance to win a prize!
9. CONFERENCE EVALUATION
We hope you will take a moment to complete the NAGAP Annual Conference Evaluation. Like last year, the evaluation will have two components:
We hope that you will find the enhancements we’ve made to the conference evaluation beneficial and less time-intensive to complete.
- General Conference Evaluation: All attendees should respond to these general questions about the annual conference.
- Education Session Evaluation: We also ask that you evaluate individual education sessions by clicking on the session title. You only need to evaluate the sessions that you attended.
Each day, we will email you with a link to the education session evaluations and then at the close of the conference we will email you with a link to the general conference evaluation. Please be on the lookout for these emails; your feedback is extremely important to us as it allows us to utilize your input for future conferences!
10. NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES
First Timers’ Session

If you have never been to a NAGAP Annual Conference, then be sure to attend the First-Timers’ Session. Informative and highly interactive, this session will help acquaint you with our organization and give you some great tips on how to make the most of your conference experience. You will also learn more about NAGAP’s structure and meet the leadership of the organization.

Thursday, April 14 - Starts in the Hotel Lobby
Like the title says, this is just for fun so you can get a little exercise to start your day. Water will be provided. There is no cost to participate in the fun run/walk, and the route will take you through Downtown Nashville, along the Cumberland River. You can purchase a t-shirt for $10 and the proceeds go to this year's charity. Sponsored by Keypath.
NAGAP Awards Presentation

The 2016 winners of the Enrollment Management Research Grant for Graduate Students will be announced. Additionally, recognition will be bestowed to NAGAP’s 2016 Distinguished Service Award Winner, as well as Future Leader, Promotion of Excellence, Visionary and Building Bridges Award winners.

11. NAGAP RESOURCE CENTER
We will once again offer the NAGAP Resource Center
, exclusively for resources. We are asking each conference attendee to bring a supply (approximately 25) of the best promotional materials from their respective schools to share with other attendees. These materials will be available in the resource center. If you are looking for additional resources, this is the place to look for extra materials available for you to take home. This area will also feature a job and message board for posting open positions at your institution, looking for jobs or to leave messages for colleagues.
12. COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT
Create Change with a Dollar - Support Thistle Farms!
Every year, NAGAP works closely with a local charity to support its work in our host city. The 2016 Conference Planning Committee has chosen Thistle Farms as the charity in Nashville. Thistle Farms is a community that provides housing, food, healthcare, therapy and education for women who have been victims of prostitution, trafficking and addiction. This unique social enterprise consists of a bath and body care company, the Thistle Stop Café and paper and sewing studios to both raise money and teach skills for its residents.
Create Change with a Dollar. We encourage you to bring one dollar (or more!) with you to Thursday’s networking lunch as a donation to Thistle Farms.
Your dollar donation will work toward implementing change for the women who are rebuilding their lives through this program. Your dollars will have an even greater impact when NAGAP matches the total donations made, up to $500.
13. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I did not register for the PCI but it looks interesting. Is it too late to register? How much does it cost? How do I register?
There are spots still available in the PCI. You may check on-site at the NAGAP Registration on Wednesday, April 8 at 8:00 a.m. to register. The PCI is $195 for NAGAP members and $245 for non-members. The PCI will be held in the Broadway G/H.
I did not RSVP for a session or changed my mind how do I switch that?
You can choose to go to any session you wish onsite. We ask for RSVP ahead of time to get an idea of interest for the sessions to help with room assignments. If you changed your mind or don't remember what you selected, don't worry, just go to the sessions that interest you.
I did not RSVP for the Off-Site event can I still come?
Yes, we know not everyone attends all of the event functions so the RSVP gives us an idea to help with planning the event. All attendees are welcome and able to attend as part of your registration and you just need your badge to enter the event.
14. WEAR YOUR NAGAP PIN
Don’t forget to wear your NAGAP membership pin as you travel to Nashville and attend the conference. It will help you connect with other NAGAP members as you proudly display your membership.
