ESIP Peer Recognition:
One important aspect of the ESIP community is recognizing the important contributions made by members of the ESIP Federation community. Last year ESIP added two new awards in addition to the Martha Maiden Award and the Falkenberg for outstanding service within ESIP.
  • President's Award - Honoring an individual who has made the most significant contribution to the Federation in the previous year.
  • ESIP of the Year Partner Award - Honoring an ESIP partner organization that best exemplifies the Spirit of ESIP in one or more areas.
Nominations are due Dec. 1. If you have questions or would like to submit a nomination please contact Carol Meyer or John Scialdone, Partnership Chair (jscialdo@ciesin.columbia.edu).

ESIP Leadership:
ESIP elections are coming up the first week of December. Feel free to contact the 2012 ESIP Leaders, Carol or me if you have questions, are interested or would like to nominate yourself or others. All offices are competed annually.

AGU Events:
Next week will be a special edition Monday Update to highlight ESIP-relevant AGU events. If you have something to include please add it to the list with this google doc by Sunday, Nov. 25.

ESIP Meeting Reminders:
The ESIP Winter Meeting is January 8-10, 2013. The theme is ESIP Advancing Earth Science Information: From Climate Assessment to Intelligence to Action.
  • Registration - Early bird rate ends Nov. 30. There are student, teacher and 1-day rates.
  • A draft agenda is posted. Sessions still need to be shuffled to minimize conflicts.
