We have had the strangest January, at least weather-wise, in recent memory. Yesterday, it was 67 degrees here. We've had temperatures below zero, plus every kind of precipitation imaginable through the month, too. But no snow days. Oh, well, February is short and then it's spring - and spring means a new release! Keep reading to get the details.
Sanction gets a cover
I got the cover for Sanction
and could not wait to share it! What do you think? I'll start work on the edits just as soon as I get Refined
on its way. Sanction
is a dynamite story, maybe my favorite of the Covenant of Trust series. We'll explore how difficult it is for the prodigal to come home and readjust. It opens with a bombshell at Dylan Snider's trial and the tension stays high throughout. Matt Bolling plays a key role and Doug and Cass crossover. It'll be a good one.
Refined is off to the editor!
I sent Refined
on its way this very week. I have no idea what the editor's backlog is, however. I know it takes around a month to get a manuscript back once the editor starts on it. I'm still hoping for a March/April -ish release. I really love how anxiously you are awaiting its release. It encourages me to no end. (And terrifies me... I mean what if you don't like it? But I was afraid you wouldn't like Razed
, either. :-) )
Last month we ran a little survey to gauge interest in some of the supporting characters in the Covenant and Foundations series. I realize you are just getting to know the Foundations characters, but even so, I was curious. The number one character folks want to read more about is Jack Molinsky (55.6%). He just nudged out Joel Molinsky (50.0%) and finished well ahead of Phil and Donna (38.9%). Here's the thing. I don't have a story for Jack. The boy has had so much tragedy in his life, I hate to do anything else to him. :-) Maybe if I ask him in nice, non-threatening, I-promise-I-won't-kill-off any-of-your-loved-ones kind of way, he'll tell me what his story is.
However, as far as the backstories I do
have some ideas about, the results were a lot tighter. Joel winning Abby over was the winner (44.4%), then Phil and Donna (38.9%). Bobbi and Chuck between Contingency
(33.3%) surprised me by coming in third. The good news is, Donna's story is drafted. I love it, and hope to get it contracted officially maybe later this year. Joel and Abby will take some work and I have a few scribbled notes somewhere on Bobbi and Chuck.
Thanks to everyone who voted. I love getting your feedback! Feel free to email, or leave a comment on Facebook, or tweet me anytime.
In other news, seminary started this week for my husband. First class - Hebrew. This means thanks to the need for drilling and review, I may end up learning Hebrew in the process. It's like adding a third homeschooler.
The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.”
