New Wheelmen Jersey
This club is about people
I can't believe it's the middle of August! It has been a very mild summer temperatures-wise. Judging by the great attendance at some rides, I think everybody is taking advantage of this mild summer to do some good riding.
The club is moving along thanks to the work of many volunteers. We have great people working hard to put together your rides week after week. One of them is our ride chair Andrew Hinck, who has been doing an awesome job in this role for over 2 years. He has developed an interesting mix of rides for a 6-weeks schedule, recruited ride starters, mapped new routes, and organized special rides. However, Andy is a busy person and he wants to have another passionate member take on the responsibilities of ride chair. So, we need a new ride chair, which is one of the most important positions on the board. We need a new member in this role soon.
The ideal candidate would be a seasoned rider with a good knowledge of the area and our rides. This person will help us keep this club going. You know who you are. Please consider helping the club!
Thank you. See you on the road!

Redland Road Public Meeting
We had a number of cyclists in attendance for the Redland Road Public Meeting held on August 5th. Although bike lanes were not even considered, there will be a “shared use lane," which will support both pedestrians and cyclists. We’ll have to see how that works. Of course, the good thing is that the lane will be protected from traffic.
