We've received feedback on providing an alternative to scheduled rides in places like Castroville and Comfort. Those "out of town" rides are great and we certainly appreciate the ride starters' willingness to support those rides. While many members enjoy those rides, those rides require more than a 60-mile roundtrip for some members. Gas isn't exactly cheap these days! Going forward, when those rides are scheduled, we are going to list an alternative leaderless ride that will usually start at Leon Springs or Bullis Park. If you have suggestions for alternative leaderless rides, please contact Tom Manning
Today, our membership database has 55 members who have indicated that they would be willing to be a ride starter. However, of those 55, 20% start all of our rides. There is no better way to help the club than to be an active ride starter. Please consider becoming an active ride starter.
We're doing our best to include the local rides for charity in our calendar
. If you are aware of a ride that you would like to have included, please let us know.
If you are a guru of the Street Atlas software program or if you know someone who is, please contact me. I'd love to speak with them.
Don't forget about our rides this weekend:
Sunday: Woman Hollering Creek
Monday: Schertz to Gruene
Monday: Leon Springs
Since the Boerne ride is leaderless, please be sure to print your map prior to leaving for the ride. Print the map for the Toutant-Beauregard route for Leon Springs.
On Monday, MLK Day, I will lead a ride from Schertz to Gruene. I'm planning to start at 9 AM at the Schertz Library (798 Schertz Parkway, Schertz, TX). Our pace will be about 16-17 mph. We'll ride through Garden Ridge and make our way to Gruene. Yes, there are a few hills in the route. :) Please e-mail me
if you are interested.
We hope to see many of you this weekend!
