The Sangamon County Board will be voting on a  solar project on Tuesday night, but they recently tabled another similar project and we need your help to show that our community wants to see solar development.

As the Future Energy Jobs Act takes off, solar is booming all over Illinois, including right here in Springfield! City Water, Light and Power put its first ever solar project in the city budget this year,  last year about one megawatt of new solar was built in Springfield, and Lincolnland Community College has a new renewable energy job training program, but in order to see more solar projects take off in Springfield our county board members need to hear from you.

Will you add your voice and let your board member know you support solar in Sangamon County?

Not sure what to say to your board member... here's a sample message:

I’m writing in support of solar energy development in Sangamon county! Solar is booming across Illinois as the Future Energy Jobs Act takes off. Because of this important act, Illinois is set to become a leader in green job training, energy efficiency and wind and solar development.

It’s important that our community not be left behind as the rest of Illinois moves forward towards a green future -- we need the tax dollars these projects will bring forth and we need the jobs they will provide.

Thanks for all you do to protect the environment!
