We are excited to announce a new event concept, the Aon 2020 NZ Short Course Series in the aftermath of the Covid-19 situation. This concept will see our regions nominate an event from their calendar in which competitors results will be collated at the completion of the series across the nation. The concept has a multi-faceted approach – to provide an opportunity for both able-body and Para swimmers to achieve a qualifying time for the Aon 2020 NZ Short Course Championships, an opportunity for swimmers whom are unable to attend Short Course and an opportunity for those athletes who have missed out on competing at the cancelled AIMS Games.
The results at the end of the series will be announced and recognised through our digital channels to both celebrate these performances and build toward the Aon 2020 NZ Short Course Championships. The results will consist of the top 20 results for each age group (see age groups listed below) and top 10 results for open (overall) categories. Only the events that would have taken place at AIMS Games (11 and 12 years) and all events taking place at the Aon 2020 NZ Short Course Championships will have results collated.
11 years, 12 years, 13 years, 14 years, 15 years, 16 years, 17–18 years, 19+ years, Open (overall)
The events partaking in the Aon Short Course Series are currently being finalised, with an announcement to be communicated on 30 June 2020 outlining the events, venues and dates.
Entries for Remaining 2020 SNZ Events

Regarding entries for the 2020 NZ Secondary School Championships and Aon 2020 NZ Short Course Championships, Swimming NZ acknowledges the reduced number of approved meets available in the lead up to both events respectively. Therefore, we are confirming the removal of the requirement to have achieved a qualifying time at an approved meet and extend the beginning of the qualification period until 1 April 2019.
