Thank you to all who answered the call to donate during #GivingTuesdayNow. We are grateful for the support received during these challenging times.

We remain unsure of the future of ACBX, however, we are certain that our community shares a one-of-a kind bond, that the work of ACBX is valued and its impact is palpable.

Frankie Troiani, better known in the Capoeira community as "Abelhinha" (in English translates to little bee), began to train Capoeira at the age of 5 with Professor Coco and two weeks ago she turned 15! Despite of her young age, Frankie has traveled with ACBX (and the support of her mother, Kim "Abelha", a single parent and also a Capoeira practitioner) to Brazil, Canada, Mexico and various states in the USA to participate in international Capoeira events. She often helps Professor Coco and the ACBX team assisting with our kids programs and community events. Frankie is one of the many students ACBX has helped expand their horizons and continues to support their development into amazing athletes, artists and human beings.

The Coronavirus crisis has hit us hard on many levels but our Capoeira spirit and bond among students remains intact. We’ve turned living rooms into virtual studios, basements into training sanctuaries (while neighbors watch and secretly video you!), we’ve become experts at throwing virtual birthday celebrations and formed capoeira rodas with our stuffed animals! Click on the video and watch show we are coming together and becoming a stronger united community - even when virtual!

SUMMER CAMP
July 6 - 31 | Four spots still left, enroll now!

As of now, our plan is to host an adapted version of our fun-filled Kids Summer Camp, assuming New York City is allowed to host such activities and our assessment of the situation. In which case, we will be most certain to follow all CDC guidelines to ensure the safety and health of the children, staff and the community at large. We will keep you informed of a final plan.

THE ACBX STUDIO, MEMBERSHIPS AND CLASS CARDS
The ACBX studio remains closed. We are awaiting New York City guidelines as to when and how should a business of our kind re-open, along with our own assessment of the situation. We will keep you informed. For students with current class cards as of March 14, 2020 for which we are not providing an online class option, your membership card has been frozen and your expiration date will be extended. Any birthdays bookings will be honored at a desired time once we re-open or treated on a case by case basis. Please reach out should you have any questions or concerns.
