For nearly 10 years, ACBX and the Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School have been collaborating on programs to support their students development and academic growth.  Earlier this month,  students visited our studio as part of their Urban Leadership Expeditionary Week in the neighborhood. Thank you WHEELS for leveraging ACBX and Capoeira Arts as an accessible educational resource in the community.

Over the past few years, Jennifer and Coco have provided classes that speak to our students by combining movement, music, and character education. Coco is a master of using rhythm and music to get students to move and listen in ways that often appear magical. Watching the smiles and joy on our students' faces would be enough validation of the value of the classes but Coco and Jennifer that they cover the history of Capoeira and the connection to the lives of our students.
