Today we have a beautiful white wine from Tras os Montes, a historical province of Portugal located in the northeastern corner of the country. This rural region consists of vast plateaus, river valleys, mountains, and castles abound.
The winery, Quinta Valle de Passos, is run by a mother and daughter team, Lurdes Braz and Carla Correia. It is a reference point in the heart of Trás-os-Montes, specifically, Valpaços. The property consists of 50 hectares of cultivated vineyards, two hectares of which are old vines of 50 years or more. The vineyards extend over shale terrain with granitic intrusion between 200 and 600 meters of altitude.
