Distinguished Service Awards were presented to Randall Ripley, professor emeritus, political science; and alumna Elizabeth Watters (BA, sociology), magistrate with the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas at the 2012 Winter Commencement.

Research Scientist’s Study on Inheritance

Jay Zagorsky, research scientist, Center for Human Resource Research, is the author of a new study suggesting that adults who receive an inheritance save only about half of what they receive, while spending, donating or losing the rest.

On the Sands of Iwo Jima

Last week, history professors Peter Hahn and Peter Mansoor led eight undergraduate students on a study-tour like no other. The students accompanied and documented the experiences of WWII veterans as they revisited four South Pacific islands. Read their stories.

ASC Staff Advisory Council Staff Pancake Breakfasts

In recognition of the hard work and dedication of the staff of the College of Arts and Sciences, the ASC Staff Advisory Council cordially invites all staff to attend a recognition breakfast. Chris Cakes will be providing “Perfectly Praiseful Pancakes,” along with sausage and drinks. Special dietary considerations will not be available. RSVP requested.
