Steve Chappelear (BA, social sciences, 1974; JD, 1977), a member of the law firm Frost Brown Todd, Columbus, was elected to the Ohio State Alumni Association’s board of directors. A five-member nominating committee recommended the directors-elect after reviewing a large base of candidates. Chappelear will serve a five-year term beginning at the conclusion of the October 2013 meeting.

Brad Steinmetz, visiting assistant professor, theatre; and Columbus architect Tim Lai, will be honored this fall by World Stage Design 2013, a quadrennnial celebration of international performance design. The duo won a design challenge that attracted more than 100 entries from 26 countries. Their winning design—a fully-functioning theatre made entirely from locally sourced, reusable or recyclable materials—will be built in Cardiff, Wales, where it will be used as the festival's main performance venue, September 5-15.
