New Study Examines Improving Visual Contrast Sensitivity Function
Fang Hou, post-doctoral researcher and lead author; Zhong-Lin Lu, professor, psychology; director, Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Brain Imaging (CCBBI), and corresponding author, have published a new study examining a method of improving efficiency and precision of contrast sensitivity function (CSF), in the July issue of Journal of Vision. The CSF, which describes visual sensitivity to narrow-band stimuli of different spatial frequencies, provides a comprehensive measure of the visual system over a wide range of spatial frequencies in both normal and abnormal vision. |

Herrmann to Represent Faculty on BOT Committee
Richard Herrmann, professor and chair, political science, has been named to serve a two-year term on Ohio State’s Board of Trustees’ Academic Affairs and Student Life Committee. Herrmann replaces Janet Box-Steffensmeier, divisional dean of social and behavioral sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences, whose two-year term ended in June. |
