Thompsons Selected 2012 Franklin Institute Laureates

Lonnie Thompson and Ellen Mosley-ThompsonLonnie Thompson, distinguished university professor of earth sciences, and Ellen Mosley-Thompson, distinguished university professor of geography and director of the Byrd Polar Research Center, have been selected 2012 Franklin Institute Laureates by The Franklin Institute. The Franklin Institute Awards are among the oldest and most prestigious comprehensive science awards in the world. The Thompsons' award and research are featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer December 19.

Announcements

Library Hosts Shakespeare Exhibit

Ellen Terry as Lady MacbethKick off 2012 with Year of Shakespeare: The Exhibit, a showcase of the Ohio State Library’s Shakespeare-related holdings from the Lawrence and Lee Theatre Research Institute and Rare Books and Manuscripts collections, as well as materials from the Ohio State/Royal Shakespeare Company partnership. The exhibition opens January 11. An opening reception is set for Thursday, January 12, 4-6:30 pm.
