In St. Albert:
Dream Within a Dream

Photography by Tyler Enfield as well as hand and computer created collage by Julie Nauman-Mikulski feature in this fascinating exhibition. Dream Within a Dream opens a window to an illusionary realm where myths and story book legends unfold and where dreams are limitless realms to be explored.
An Opening Reception is planned at The Art Gallery of St. Albert on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 6 – 9 pm, in conjunction with St. Albert ArtWalk. Dream Within a Dream runs until August 31, 2013.

In Red Deer:
Reflections from a Century: Artists of Central Alberta

"Reflections From a Century" runs at the Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery until August 5th, 2013. Curator David More says of the exhibit: "Reflections from a Century" takes us into the depths of the Red Deer MAG collection and reveals some hidden treasures rarely viewed by the public. Dating back to the time of Red Deer’s incorporation as a city and bringing us to the present day, the exhibition explores the visual realm of over 50 artists who have played a significant role in forming the artistic vision of Central Alberta." In Calgary:
GreyScreen ROM-HACK
Kevin Stebner

The EPCOR Centre for the Performing Arts and Calgary artist Kevin Stebner invite the public to see and participate in the progression of an art installation this summer. Stebner will be re-writing computer software and creating an installation with outdated video game consoles as well as continually changing the work throughout the exhibition. "GreyScreen ROM-HACK" will run at EPCOR Centre's Ledge Gallery from August 1-22, 2013 with an opening reception planned for Thursday, August 1 from 5-8 pm in the Upper Centre Court. In Edmonton:
Gaia: The Great Mother of All
Various Artists

All living organisms and inorganic material are part of a dynamic system that shapes the Earth's biosphere, and maintains the Earth as a fit environment for life. Sculptors from the Sculptors' Association of Alberta were asked to submit pieces of work that reflect the interaction of humankind with this nurturing planet we call home.

"Gaia" shows at The Muttart Conservatory in Edmonton until September 3, 2013.
Artists include: Agnieszka Koziarz, Annique Comeau, Bonnie Bigley, Fran Cuyler, Heinz Zadler, Jacqueline Fiala, Lynette Schurko, Pearl Schreiner, Robert Woodbury, Tania Garner Tomas, Andrew McCaffrey, Beata Kurpinski, Carol & Richard Selfridge, Gerry Nason, Helen Rogers, Keith Turnbull, Marjorie Davies, Ritchie Velthuis, Shirley Adams, and Will Johnson.

In the Visual Arts Alberta Gallery
The exhibition Storytellers examines the telling of stories in visual art. With art works drawn from the collection of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, this exhibition explores the actual narratives related by artists and the various ways they have been portrayed. Storytellers runs from July 25 - August 28, 2013 with an opening reception planned for Thursday, August 1

Storytellers was curated by Shane Golby and organized by the Art Gallery of Alberta for the Alberta Foundation for the Arts Travelling Exhibition Program. The AFA Travelling Exhibition program is supported by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.
