Dear all,
May is going to prove to be an interesting month. Our Judicial Reviews (or at least the first of them) will be heard on 19 May. The developer is seeking to have the first 'permission' stage, of JR2 heard before then, but we fully expect both cases to be heard fully on 19 May. They may give a judgment on the day, or they may take some time to consider their decision. In any event we will be holding a  Stokey Local meeting on 20 May at 7pm at St Paul's Church, (junction of Stoke Newington Road and Evering Road, where the farmers market is held)
Elections: lets see what the candidates have to say for themselves
On 22 May, we get the opportunity to pick our local councillors, and over the last three years we have learnt the value of good community politicians (and the detriment of having politicians who won't support the community). Stokeylocal is teaming up with Hackney Unites to promote the #hackneyspeaks project.
'Question Time' public meetings are being organised across the borough, including in Stoke Newington, Stamford Hill, Woodberry and Cazenove wards. There will also be a public meeting for the Mayoral candidates on 15 May.
The details are below and we are looking for some supporters to assist us with distributing leaflets publicising these events. We know that not every ward is covered, but if you hear of any other such meetings, please let us know and Hackney Unites will publicise them as well.
You can help make these events a success by completing an on-line survey which seeks to identify the 'key issues' across the borough.
You can also help spread the word by posting on twitter using the hashtag: #hackneyspeaks, or by liking the Facebook page

If you can help distribute leaflets in the streets where you live, please email
