In Yspaniola’s Learning Center we offer programming for our older students, but classes had to temporarily put on hold at the beginning of this academic year due to staffing issues. This February, we were able to reopen Reading Hour, our popular program which promotes a culture of reading for pleasure.
We are thrilled to announce that our Tutoring classes are also back! In March, 17 students aged 8 to 14 started attending daily one-hour sessions. During each class, students engage in different activities to work on phonics and strengthen their reading and writing skills. Committed to providing the best conditions for our students' development, they also receive a healthy lunchbox after every class.
Yspaniola teacher Mayra, who had been covering Preschool classes since the beginning of the school year, was very excited to start teaching older students again. Her passion to provide children and teenagers with the necessary tools to achieve Spanish proficiency motivates her to deliver interactive, engaging, and impactful classes for her students.
Thanks to the fantastic teaching team efforts and students' commitment, Yspaniola students are thriving in their education. Of course, none of this would be possible without you, the generous donors who make this possible. THANK YOU!
