Championship Team JDX Racing Enters the Inaugural Formula 4 United States Championship Season
LOVELAND, Colo. (Jun 20, 2016) – Championship winning race team and 2015 Formula Lites Champion JDX Racing is proud to announce the first of three entries into the inaugural 2016 Formula 4 United States Championship season. Entering the series with a talented young driver is a necessity, as competition will be fierce with the potent new Crawford Composites Chassis / Honda powered / Pirelli shod single seater, JDX Racing is enthusiastic to open another chapter in its open wheel racing history.
JDX Racing is pleased to announce the signing of Blake Mount for an all-out assault on the 2016 Formula 4 U.S. Series Championship, and Blake is no stranger to the track or the podium. The Glendale, Arizona native and now Denver resident most recently competed in the F1600 & F2000 series, most recently claiming 2nd in the 2016 F2000 US Majors Tour at Road Atlanta. Other recent race accolades include claiming the top step of the podium in the Atlantic Series Winter Exhibition at PBIR in Palm Beach and strong P2 at Sebring International Raceway.
Blake commented, "I am ecstatic to be racing in the inaugural Formula 4 U.S. Championship powered by Honda this year with JDX Racing. So far, my 2016 has brought me a plethora of incredible opportunities and I feel I have substantially progressed as a driver. I've been racing open wheel cars for the majority of my 21 years - everything from Rotax and Shifter karts back when I was nine years old, to advancing my skills with Formula 3 Racing School, testing in a USF2000 and Formula Lites. The F4 car raises the bar to a whole new level for American drivers, and it’s a great opportunity for me to be involved in a program that fundamentally changes the American open wheel landscape.”
Team co-owner, Jeremy Dale said, “We are honored to enter the Formula 4 U.S. Championship in this first year of competition - and we are confident Blake will give our team plenty of time at the front of the field. We recognized the opportunity that the new F4 USA series presents for young talented drivers, and this is a unique opportunity and an important series to have for standout karters to take their skills to the next level.”
Mount added, “Having driven the new F4 car, I’ve got to push it to the limit and was thrilled with how it performed. I feel this will be an incredibly competitive season for all the drivers involved, and I am confident that F4 will be a great avenue for aspiring open wheelers such as myself to show what we can do given the right structure and cars. I have no doubt that my teammates and I, in conjunction with the experience JDX brings to the table, will set the bar high for the F4 US series this season." Mount concluded, “I want to thank my sponsors, Coca-Cola, RLHC, Duane Morris, Shelbourne Capital and the Intercontinental Hotel Miami.”
The green flag for Rounds 1, 2 and 3 of the Formula 4 Unites States Championship 2016 season are scheduled for July 1-3 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Lexington, Ohio. The 2.4 mile, 13-turn circuit will kick-off the first three rounds of the Formula 4 USA Championship, 5 event / 15 race season.
