What Right Has My Head to Call Itself Me
October 7th to 29th, 2016

Opening Reception, Friday October 7th, 6-9pm

“At what precise moment...
...does an individual stop being who he thinks he is?
You know, I don't like complications.
Cut off my arm. I say, "Me and my arm."
You cut off my other arm. I say, "Me and my two arms."
You...take out...
...take out my stomach, my kidneys,
assuming that were possible...
And I say, "Me and my intestines."
Follow me?
And now, if you cut off my head...
...would I say, "Me and my head" or "Me and my body"?
What right has my head to call itself me?
What right?”
Excerpt from the film “The Tenant”, 1976, by Roman Polanski.

It's official, after 13 years of working with hundreds of artists from across Canada and the US, the moniker LE Gallery is being put to rest. Moving forward we will be known as Wil Kucey Gallery. With our growing experience and expanding interests the gallery is growing to provide more services to the artists and clients we work with.  As well as continuing to offer representation to important contemporary artists, we will expand our focus on advising and collection management for our clients. Director Wil Kucey is now offering historical Canadian works of art by important and influential artists of their time. With the access and expertise in sourcing works from the Group of Seven, the Automatistes and Painters Eleven, we will have a changing inventory of works at the gallery as well as access to artists who may be on your list. Stop in to see what's on the wall, or visit our various sites and accounts to view some of the interesting stories and works we come across.
