Our Amazing Trip To Africa-Entrepreneur's, Orphans and Outreach

When people ask us  to describe our trip to Ghana Africa in one word it was “amazing.” We had opportunities to meet with entrepreneurs,  orphans, and lots of outreach.  We discussed cocoa planting and agricultural issues with the head chief of a tribe, participate in drilling wells, assisted in delivering breakfast to children at school that hadn't eaten in a couple of days and experience everyday life in Africa.
We were overwhelmed by God's uncommon favor in so many situations and how many nice people we met.  They were not only kind to Frank and I, but they are very friendly with each other and the sense of community was amazing.

Originally I planned on teaching eBay to women and showing them how to sell their Ghana hand crafted items that have world wide appeal. The classes were held in the Afri-Hope Governor George Leader SPACE computer lab and did include the ladies but were expanded and opened up to adult students from a variety of different backgrounds and ages. The students enjoyed the power-point presentation of my new book How To Sell on Ebay: A Step-by-Step Manual For Beginner Sellers.  In addition to eBay classes I did teach classes on general business and entrepreneurial skills that included other venues of income streams. Many of the students have already
applied the skills they learned in the classes. Alex and Lydia from Afri-Hope ministries will continue meeting with the students and we are planning regular video conference  sessions with the group.

One of the highlights of our trip was the Ari Hope Orphanage. Because  of generous donations from our family, friends and church we were  able to give each child a new outfit, flip flops, bows (for girls) and
bracelets. The kids from the orphanage were so thankful for the gifts.

One day Frank and I meet with the chief of the family and former Ghana ambassador to Israel to discuss growing cocoa in Ghana and the agricultural limitations. While in the  country we participated in drilling 3 fresh water wells in the Berekum City area that will service around 10,000 people.

We assisted with the prep and feeding of 250 school children that occurs every school day.  Each child gets a cup of porridge fortified with vitamins and milk with a baked roll.  For these children this is the  only meal they get for the day.  The need is very great and AfriHOPE could easily feed 2,000 kids each day.

We also sponsored a BBQ for the orphans that ended up feeding over 100 people from the surrounding area.  God multiplied the food so that all were fed. This trip was on our bucket list of things to do and has
been life changing for us both. I came to the conclusion very quickly that the people of Africa have the same dreams and desires we do but just do things a little differently. We hope you enjoyed the pictures
 and have a fantastic Easter!

It has been a very awesome and insightful three weeks of lectures and practices on successful transactions on eBay. I am privileged to be part of Gail Smith's "eBay The Right Way - How to sell on eBay" Berekum-Ghana Class organised under the auspices of Gail Smith/AfriHOPE Mission, Gh. I learned many things that I never knew about on eBay and similar sites. Gail Smith's eBay The Right Way - How to sell on eBay/A step by step manual for beginner sellers is a really good book, easy to read, but powerfully written, guide to having successful transactions on eBay. Gail Smith is a great mentor and teacher and her book is a necessary tool in the tool box. 5 stars!
