Portland: Come learn the science of engagement and video games!
Because we rarely have talks open to the public, we wanted our greater Portland area subscribers to know about this opportunity:
What: The Science of Engagement and Video Games presented as part of OMSI's Science Pub series.
Where: OMSI, 1945 SE Water Ave, Portland OR
When: Tuesday, May 16th, 7-9 PM. The previous time we gave a Science Pub, it was standing-room-only at the Bagdad theater, which has 600 seats. The Empirical Theater at OMSI has only 300 seats. You might want to arrive early to be sure you get in. Food and drink are available at OMSI and permitted in the theater.
Who: Happy Brain Science CEO, Chief Happiness Officer, and game industry veteran Scott Crabtree will be presenting. We hope you, and your friends will be there too. :)
Why: Video games do a fantastic job of engaging people. Science tells us how video games achieve such high engagement. We can all learn from this science. We can do a better job of engaging ourselves and others at work. Studies suggest that organizations, their customers, and employees all benefit when engagement is high.
This session IS a game! You'll interact, play, and have a chance to win while you learn!
How much? A $5 donation to OMSI is suggested at the door.
We hope to see you there!
