Hey there,

It sort of feels like a lackluster sports time for now... We just had the NBA All-Star game and the Daytona 500 last week, but we're also in the eye of the storm before March Madness gets going next month... Don't worry. It'll pick up!

That said, it was exciting to see Tyson Fury earn the title of heavyweight champion! (He clearly is in the right business with a name like that, no)?

If you're like me and you're counting down the minutes 'til March Madness, take some time to check out our top Spring Break recipes, crank up our new Spring Break Roadtrippin' Playlist, and sit back and relax with a killer tropical cocktail.

Oh, and if you're looking to drastically improve your Spring Break, we've included the ultimate Gear Guide below to upgrade your travel!

All my best,

P.S. If you need something nostalgic to get you through this sporting lull or prefer a stay-cation for Spring Break, all of the Chevy Chase Vacation movies are currently streaming on Hulu (binge it up with a
FREE 1-week trial here).

RECIPES: Spring Break Goodness!

“This is no longer a vacation. It's a quest for fun. We're all gonna have so much fun we're gonna need plastic surgery to remove our smiles!”
--Clark Griswold, Vacation
Baja Fish Tacos

Baja Fish Tacos (No.13)
Tacos de pescado, or fish tacos, originated in Baja California, Mexico. Generally speaking, you add lettuce or cabbage, some pico de gallo, and sour cream or citrus mayo to the top of a flour tortilla for this dish.

 Why We Love This:
When you add fresh lime, cilantro, and smoky adobo to crispy mahi mahi, you've got a real crowd-pleaser that's so good you might get "hooked" on some bad puns that will have your guests "fishing" for compliments. (We know, sorry...)

PRO TIP: Take a quick head count next time you add cilantro as a garnish to make sure everyone enjoys the herb. We personally love it, but some people actually have an unfortunate gene that makes cilantro taste like soap! (Plus, then you'll know who not to invite next time...😉)

Tropical Island Chicken

Tropical Island Chicken
Bring the flavors of the island right to your backyard! This "Test Kitchen Approved" recipe includes flavorful soy sauce, fresh minced garlic, dried minced onion, savory sesame seeds and a hint of cayenne pepper.

 Why We Love This:
There are certain recipes that just create such a mouthwatering aroma that they can transport the mind to a new, exotic location. This marinade makes that type of savory statement and will likely become your next "clean plate club" contestant.

PRO TIP: If your tropical taste buds lean towards wine rather than cocktails, pair white meats with Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay and pair darker meats (wings, thighs, legs) with medium reds like Pinot Noir or Zinfandel.

Paloma Drink

Paloma (Tequila)
According to Brit + Co, most Americans drink margaritas when they want the taste of Mexico, but natives actually prefer the Paloma. This super quick cocktail only requires the essentials: tequila, soda water and grapefruit juice (or grapefruit soda).

 Why We Love This:
This simple mixture has been called "the working man's drink" because it's easy to make and is super refreshing. Pick your favorite tequila and then look for a grapefruit-flavored soda such as Fresca, Squirt, or Jarritos. Consider adding a lime wedge or just pour over the rocks.

PRO TIP: Mix this tasty treat while listening to Gipsy's "Hotel California" Spanish remix from The Big Lebowski (trust us, it somehow adds to the flavor). And, find all of your cocktail-making and mixing supplies (ice trays, muddling sets) at our Hungry Fan Approved fav store,
Arctic Chill.

Tyson Fury: Long Live The King

Tyson Fury: Long Live the King
Boxer Tyson Fury, the newest heavyweight champion of the world, built his game plan around being as close as possible to Olympic bronze medalist Deontay Wilder. This wasn't supposed to happen as Wilder is essentially known as the knockout king. (Apparently, Fury missed that memo).

 Our Take:
It's possible that Wilder was too cocky in his approach. Like Brad Pitt's character, Mickey, in the movie Snatch, he felt "boxers need to be perfect for 36 minutes against him, while he only needs to be perfect for two seconds." Basically, he's a hard hitter, but not as it turns out, not hard enough...

86-Year-Old Woman Sinks 94-Foot Putt, Wins Car
"And the crowd goes wild!" Described as the putt of a lifetime, Mary Ann Wakefield went to the Alabama vs. Ole Miss basketball game without any idea she's be bringing home quite the prize. (Click the link above for video).

 Our Take:
While watching the game, Wakefield was called out on the court to try and sink a full-court putt, which is 94 feet. She lined up the shot, put her head down, and gave it her best shot. Watch the crowd lose their minds as she swings for a 2020 Nissan Altima.

SPOTLIGHT: Spring Break Roadtrippin' Tunes

Spring Break Tunes

"Desperado, Sitting in an old Monte Carlo..."
There's plenty of party playlists out there, so ours is a little different... Turn on these SFW tunes from Alabama Shakes, Kid Cudi, RHCP, and The Black Keys while you're mixing cocktails or roadtrippin' to your destination.
(And if you need something more funky, check out "Bap U" by Party Favor).

TSA-approved, this cocktail kit has everything you need for on-the-go partying (flights only, unless you're in "open container" spots like Vegas). Just add ginger syrup to enter the 30,000 feet high club.
Cocktail Set
3-Piece Stainless Steel Muddling Cocktail Set

The essential toolset perfect for mojitos, mint juleps, old fashioned and everything in between. (If you need more inspiration, check out our Paloma recipe above to get your spring break cocktail mood on).
Yeti Cooler
Yeti Camino Waterproof Cooler

The perfect tote for tailgating, boating, beaching, or road tripping... Hey, this is YETI. You know it's solid. The question is: do you have one? Don't sip on a warm Corona or waste money on an inferior cooler. Life is short and Spring Break is shorter. It's time to upgrade...
Herschel Bag
Herschel Supply Weekender (Duffel Bag)

We dig the Herschel brand, especially when it comes to their carry-on designs. This duffel can also be used as gym bag, pregnant wife hospital bag and as a hidden go-bag like Dexter had (in case the police are closing in...).
PRO TIP: Share the love with your tailgating family!
