In light of the huge impact that the Covid-19 pandemic is posing now and in the future for the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in Milton Keynes and across the UK, we want you to join us in writing to the Chancellor to speed up and improve the Government’s financial support for the charity sector. Enabling collaboration between funders in response to the Covid-19 pandemic
The pandemic is a health, social and economic crisis. Civil society reaches people in need and helps make sure that everyone’s voices can be heard. But civil society’s capacity for action is being limited as its income dries up due to the current restrictions.

Charity Retail Assosiation have published an updated version of the ‘reopening pack’.
The pack consists of helpful guidance for when we are given the green light to open up charity retail shops, and provides some suggestions of things to think about in the meantime.

£5 million Loneliness Covid-19 Grant Fund

The Government has launched a major effort to tackle loneliness during the coronavirus outbreak and period of social distancing. This fund will make grants of between £500,000 and £1,000,000.

Baring Foundation
Grants of up to £100k to charities with legal expertise. The grants will also make grants of up to £5,000 to help organisations whose operations have been severely affected by the coronavirus.

Domestic abuse safe accommodation: COVID-19 emergency support fund
MHCLG has secured £10 million for domestic abuse safe accommodation charities as part of a £76 million government package of support to charities supporting vulnerable people including domestic abuse victims.
