Do you feel invisible, but highly seen?


The truth about pandemic parenting while managing a demanding career cannot be defined here in a neatly prepared paragraph.  Although everyone’s homelife responsibilities look different, we are all carrying a weight that cannot be measured through someone else’s lens.

Both men and women are feeling these changes, studies, however, show that women are taking the majority of the stress of caring for their family during the pandemic. 

Additionally, the ABA Journal recently reported that the pay gap between male and female partners at big law continues to widen. (According to the article, in 2010, female partners earned 24 percent less than their male counterparts whereas in 2018, female partners earned 35 percent less.  Why am I not surprised?)

Basically overnight, parents are asked to reimagine their work responsibilities, homeschool their children, and adjust the average work day that may not end until far past the children are in bed. 

And women in BigLaw may be doing all of this, but for less compensation than their male counterparts.
