First things first – who are we?
The Coventry and Warwickshire Training Hub was set up in October with the merger of the former Coventry and Warwickshire training hubs. The Training Hub covers Coventry, Rugby, South Warwickshire and Warwickshire North.

A way to expand the workforce in Primary Care

We are funded by Health Education England to provide training and education in primary care to all staff groups. The aim is to support recruitment, retention and return of all staff groups.
We work in partnership with CCGs and the Health Care Partnership to pilot and mobilise workforce projects and submit quarterly returns to HEE on activity, as well as a bi-annual self-assessment of our performance.

We’re excited to be working with our general practice colleagues and look forward to sharing lots of useful information in the coming months.

Please use 'Your Opinion Matters' at the end to leave your feedback.
GPFV Training
GPFV training has been delivered virtually to over 300 General Practice colleagues.

New to Practice Fellowships
Watch this space…!

The General Practice Fellowship programme is a national commitment announced in the NHS Long Term Plan, and restated in the February 2020 Update to the GP Contract.

It is a two year programme of support available to all newly- qualified GPs and nurses working substantively in general practice, with an explicit focus on working within and across a PCN.
This programme of support involves:
  • PCN portfolio working
  • Learning and development post-registration
  • Supporting nurses and GPs to take up substantive roles, understanding the context they are working in.
  • Becoming embedded in the PCN
  • Increasing and maintaining high levels of participation in the primary care workforce.
Participants receive funded mentorship and funded CPD opportunities of one session per week (pro rata) and placements within or across PCNs to develop experience and support transition into the workforce.

We are pushing forward with the roll-out of this fellowship programme and are currently awaiting funding allocation. Full guidance can be found here.

CPD Update for Nurses
Firstly, we would like to say a huge thank you for being so patient with us, with the pressures of Flu season and COVID we understand this funding is a glimmer of light.

You will have received an email offering you a number of routes for your CPD funding and within it, 3 offers as outlined below.
  1. Training packages up to £333.33 sourced on your behalf within the top 6 areas of training identified from your returns.
  1. A form to complete and return if you have found a course you would like to register for.
  1. Option to be reimbursed for an approved training course already taken within the 20/21 financial year
We must stress that this is a ‘use it or lose it’ situation as the funding must be allocated by March 2021 as it cannot be carried over to the next financial year.

Whatever option you choose we will support you through the process, if you have not received an email or have any questions please email or
