Thanks for another wonderful year!

Dear Colleagues,

As we return from the Thanksgiving holiday, we wanted to express our gratitude to the tremendously innovative Columbia researcher community. It is your creativity that drives innovation across a broad range of markets and industries, delivering impact locally and around the globe. As you can see from the charts below, CTV has been hard at work transferring your inventions from the lab to the marketplace: since 2008, inventions have increased by 24%, licensing and options by 68%, and start-ups by 60%. Companies are now actively developing new products based on Columbia technologies in fields such as cancer diagnostics, surgical robotics, enterprise data storage, energy-efficient buildings, semiconductors, Alzheimer therapies, and more. All of this is possible because of you.

We wish you all a very happy holiday season and look forward to many more world-changing inventions in the years to come!

Sincerely,

Orin Herskowitz
Executive Director, CTV
VP for Intellectual Property & Technology Transfer
