Dear <<First Name>>,

I am writing this while reflecting on a fairly typical Friday. Melanie checked the children's work after another week of homeschooling as they finished off their list of projects for the week and then shifted into their various free time activities.  I spent the morning working at my desk before going across the road to have a lunch and planning meeting with the Cor Deo leadership and then spent the afternoon in a Trinity Chippenham leadership meeting.  It was fairly typical, but memorable too:

Bright Red - The lunch meeting with the Cor Deo team (Ron and Dave, my co-mentors, and Mike, the new Team Administrator) was not easy.  I was bright red and distracted.  I had taken a niacin capsule that morning and I seemed to be much more flushed than normal.  It took two hours for the tingling and "skin-on-fire" sensation to gradually move down my limbs.  Needless to say my colleagues had plenty to say about it.  But I was confused.  100mg of Niacin shouldn't have this effect, even if it was a new brand.  Later in the evening I checked the bottle.  1000mg per capsule - yikes!

Family - The children are generally well. They are loving the spring weather and really enjoying being part of the new church. In January we discovered we were pregnant but then we suffered the agonising pain of losing the baby.  Melanie wrote a post on our blog about that, so let me just put the link here in case you missed it.  We are thankful for the healing that has started to happen in our hearts but we are continuing to grieve the loss of our little one.  February brought birthday season for the Mead girls - four birthdays in four weeks - here's a link to the post of pictures that tells that story.

Cor Deo - The year started with God wonderfully providing a great new venue for us in amazing circumstances.  We had just three weeks to find a new venue before the year started.  The agents told us it was almost impossible, but God came through!  We now have a wonderful new home for Cor Deo to rent that feels as if it were almost purpose built.  The full-time course is now halfway through with five great guys participating.  We have enjoyed a reunion with participants from the previous three years, and this next week we will be joined by some of the wives and others from England and Italy for a one-week Intensive.  Let me list what we looked at this week to give you a taste of Cor Deo: all four of the major prophets introduced, an afternoon on finding the "big idea" of a passage for preaching, John 17-18 in close study, two discussions on the issue of finding God's will, the Swiss Reformation (Zwingli and Calvin) and mentored study project meetings.

Trinity Chippenham - After meeting for prayer from September to December, we started meeting as a church on the first Sunday of 2014.  Twelve weeks in and we are so thankful for the way God has moved us into the adventure of church planting.  We now have a wonderful church meeting on Sundays in our local leisure centre, life groups meeting during the week, a creche ministry up and running (almost a quarter of the church are currently under fives!), children's Sunday School currently getting launched, youth ministry started, worship group getting used to our new PA equipment and lots of lives learning what it means to be church as well as to do church.  In the next couple of months we hope to move to the next phase of the launch of the church as we start proactively advertising our existence, inviting friends to church and running evangelistic ministries.  This week Melanie helped to organise a ladies' social event which seemed to be a very special time.  On Sunday our Cor Deo colleague Ron will be preaching to tie a bow on our series "Recipe for a Healthy Church" with a message that pulls all the ingredients together - "Holiness." Being part of the Trinity Chippenham adventure is a faith-stretching experience on many levels and we are certainly feeling thoroughly inadequate for the responsibilities involved in helping to lead and shepherd this church.  Apart from Him we can do nothing!

Other Ministry - Family, Cor Deo and Trinity Chippenham take up a  lot of time, as you can imagine. But we do have other opportunities to give of ourselves too. Last Thursday Peter spoke at the Christian Union at UWE, the university he attended back in the 90's. The European Leadership Forum is coming up in May, where Peter will again be teaching and leading the Bible Teacher's Networks. He is also working on some writing projects - more information on those soon.

Thank you so much for supporting us in practical ways and through prayer - we are so thankful to know we are part of several special teams: the leadership teams for Cor Deo and the church, and the team of friends standing with us in ministry.  Please let us know how we can be praying for you,

Peter & Melanie

Prayer Requests:

Pray for us as we continue to heal emotionally after the miscarriage.

Praise God for the amazing provision of the new Cor Deo venue and a good start to 2014.

Pray for the men on the full-time course and the leadership of Cor Deo, that we would all be growing closer to the Lord in the next weeks.

Pray for the Cor Deo Intensive coming up this next week as we look at the Trinity and the Church with Ephesians as a focus.

Praise God for the great start of Trinity Chippenham!

Pray for the people in the church to be prepared by God for the next phase as we start to be evangelistically proactive - these weeks of "family time" have been important to process the past months and prepare for the future.

Pray for Hannah, Aliyah, Mariah, Joel & Kaylah as they continue to grow: for each to be responsive to God's love for them.

Thank you for praying for us!
