Peter & Melanie Mead

Dear <<First Name>>,

We seem to have a bunch of new beginnings to share with you!  First and most importantly:

Kaylah Amy Eliana Mead was born at home

on the 1st of

February.  The birth went so well and we are all delighted by this "little" blessing (birth weight: 9lbs!)  It's hard to believe two weeks have passed already!  She is being showered with love from all her siblings while Mum and Dad are playing catch-up with sleep.  To see more pictures click for our post on her birthday, Melanie's reflections three days later, and the latest from yesterday.

Hannah and Aliyah were baptised on Sunday morning.  We were joined by family and

friends for this special occasion.  Both girls gave great testimonies and then Peter had the privilege of doing the deed!  It is such an encouragement to see them growing in their faith and being so willing to tell the world about their Saviour.  It was great to have the same visiting preacher who spoke the night Peter was saved thirty years ago - Graham Loader from Bristol.

Cor Deo 2012 began at the end of January.  The team is smaller than last year, but it has been such a great start to the season (even if Peter has missed a few days due to Kaylah's arrival).  We really appreciate your prayers for Cor Deo, as well as the other ministries we are involved in (Ladyfield Church, Pillars Training, OM, etc.)  Peter and Ron alternate in offering a thoughtful weekly post on the Cor Deo site, you might want to check it out by clicking here.

We have so much to be thankful for.  Thank you for your prayers for us as a family and for the things we are involved in.  It is an absolute privilege to be serving together, because of whom we are serving!

Peter & Melanie and the family

Okay, since we have a theme going in this email, here's a bonus new beginning:

Joel has launched into the world of reading!  Joel was in a race to see if he could finish his "100 Easy Lessons" before the baby arrived.  He finished lesson 99 the day Melanie went into labour.  So close!  A few days later we celebrated with a special apple pie from Grandma and a party in Joel's honour.  Now he is diligently bringing us books to practice a couple of pages before moving back to something more active.  This evening he read me all the wording on a library card!

Upcoming Dates:

This Saturday is the first Pillars study day of 2012 in Bristol.  Peter is one of three instructors (as well as being on the leadership team).

March 9-11 is our first Cor Deo reunion weekend with most of team 2011 coming back to join team 2012.

March 19, 22 and 29 Peter is speaking to UCCF staff and then two Christian Unions respectively.  Please pray for the work among Christian students in British universities.

March and April, Peter is speaking at Ladyfield in a series shared with Ron before Easter, then in a post-Easter series on his own (Galatians and Acts).  The messages will be on

Just a reminder that Peter continues to write on
