Dear <<First Name>>,

December is here!  We asked for prayer in our last update for some upcoming ministry - the Cor Deo intensive, Peter's teaching at the student event and the church weekend in Gloucestershire. We are so thankful that we have really seen God's hand in all the events and He has touched many lives.  Thank you for being a part of these events through your prayers.

Just to be creative, we'll organize our update with numbers this month.

Eight - On December 8th, it will be eight years since we arrived in England and launched into full-time ministry.  (Just to throw a few more numbers in. . . we came as four and now we are seven!)  Recently, in reading through the Old Testament, I was struck by how often God asked His people to remember His mighty acts through feasts and celebrating.  So, we decided to have a family celebration day on Dec. 8th to remember how He brought us here and to praise Him for how He's worked over the past 8 years.  Plans include looking at old photo albums, explaining to our children how God brought us here, eating American and English food and playing US and UK sports. :-) Praise Him with us!

Six - We thank God that we now have six guys signed up for the full-time Cor Deo Team 2013!  We are incredibly excited to see what God will do in their lives. Please pray for us as we prepare for the start of the full-time programme in just over six weeks (immediately preceded by a week-long intensive course).  Please especially pray for David and Erin Searight and their children as they prepare to move from the USA to join us as full-time Cor Deo colleagues. They need to finish raising their support and many practical details, such as visas need to come together. It is our prayer that we will be face to face with them in January.

Sixteen - Peter will be preaching morning and evening at our home church - four weeks in December and four weeks in January, for a total of sixteen messages.  Please pray for him - for motivation, for encouragement, for focus in preparation and for God to touch lives with His precious and powerful Word.

Twenty-four - Peter and I got to get away for 24 hours this past week (with Kaylah!) and had a great time.  We had nice meals, watched a great movie (Gifted Hands - highly recommend it), played Yahtzee and got time to talk uninterrupted.  What a blessing.  Please continue to pray for protection and strengthening of our marriage and family.

Zero - Jesus said, "Apart from me, you can do nothing."  Please pray that we will remember this and fully rely on our amazing Saviour.  We say it a lot, but we often feel our weakness.  Challenges come every day both in our family and in ministry.  We sometimes feel exhausted, sometimes overwhelmed.  We battle with the enemy and our own sinful tendencies. We need Him so much.

With love in Christ,

Melanie for the Mead Family
