Dear <<First Name>>,
We sent you our last email update before our summer trip to the USA. We thank God that He blessed us with an amazing summer of connecting with friends and family. See this post on our website for a more detailed report and lots of photos. Thank you so much for praying for this trip. God was so faithful to us.
We have been back in Chippenham a month now and have been busy catching up on admin tasks, de-cluttering our house, starting homeschooling and re-integrating into church life. It is wonderful to be back at Trinity Chippenham, connecting with people and watching God work. Please pray for us to be used to share God’s love and truth with needy hearts. The new elders were commissioned on 20 September. Please pray that they will be united, close to Jesus and have God’s wisdom as they lead and shepherd the church family.
To give you a flavor for what is going on at Trinity, here are a few upcoming church events to pray for:
· Peter has started off a new series at church – “Walking with Jesus,” from the book of Luke (if you are interested, you can listen here).
· Ladies evening – Gretchen George, a prayer partner of ours, who will be helping to lead the Cor Deo women’s programme in February, is here for the Cor Deo Plus week this week. She’ll be sharing her testimony at a Trinity ladies’ evening on the 7th. Please pray for the Holy Spirit to use her words to touch every heart there.
· Light Party – We are having an alternative Halloween party again this year. Please pray for lots of children to come and that some of them and their families will want to come back to church. Our goal is eternal fruit! Pray for protection over this event as it can be a very dark time of the year.
We have just come to the end of a Cor Deo intensive week and Peter reports that everyone involved found it to be a wonderful week of learning and growing together. This week is a Cor Deo Plus week with a small group studying early church history together. One of the participants last week was from Ireland and would like us to run a Cor Deo intensive over there sometime. Please pray about this possibility as well as the overall direction for Cor Deo in the upcoming months. Following a bit of a break, we’ll have an intensive in January and then the special Cor Deo women’s programme will run for the month of February. Ladies, are you or someone you know interested in studying the Bible and Theology in a relational environment for four weeks? Then consider whether the women’s programme might be for you. (Email Cor Deo for more info).
And last but not least, we have been preparing for the arrival of a new baby Meadling! Our whole family is very excited to meet this little one, hopefully in the next 3 to 4 weeks. Pray that Melanie would have God’s strength and joy over the next few weeks, including for the birth. And pray that God would bring this baby safely into our arms at just the right time. Life is precious and sweet . . .pray that all of us Meads will grow to love and value each other in a deeper and deeper way, especially as we savour the early (but exhausting!) days with our new baby.
With our love,
Peter & Melanie
