Dear <<First Name>>,
November started with a bang for us! (Actually there were literal bangs that weekend as fireworks were going off to celebrate 5th November here in the UK!) But we had another reason to celebrate . . . in the early hours of the 1st of November, we welcomed the newest Meadling to the family! We thank the Lord for this precious little girl – Jessah Abigail – and are so grateful for the birth going so smoothly. We’ve spent the last few weeks recovering and joyfully getting to know our sweet Jessah. She’s certainly had lots and lots of cuddles from her siblings who are always eager to have a turn holding her! Having a new baby is always an exhausting time but such a precious one. Amidst the challenge of sleep deprivation, we have been thanking God for His gift to our family. We still can’t believe she is ours! To read more about her birth and see photos click here.
Please pray for us to continue to adjust to having a new baby, to embrace the “new normal” and for Jessah to grow and thrive. We’ve done this five times before but we still sense our great need for God’s help in caring for this new little person who is so dependent on us for everything. It is a poignant reminder of how desperately we need our heavenly Father. Apart from Him we are nothing and we can do nothing.
Please pray for our family to have a deep love and passion for Jesus, especially in the Christmas season coming up. We’ve decided to focus on REST, JOY and LOVE as our “mission statement” for Christmas this year and have planned to some simple ways to reach out to others. We are looking forward to reading Ishtar’s Odyssey together – an advent story in the same series we have enjoyed in past years. We highly recommend these books as a way to focus on Jesus as a family during the weeks leading up to Christmas. Do check them out!
Looking back . . .
*Our Light Party at church was a great success! Thank you for praying about this. It actually took place just hours before Jessah arrived but the Meadlings and Peter still got to attend.
*Peter has had a paternity break from quite a few of his ministry commitments this month but he was able to enjoy teaching a session on God’s Word, God’s Heart, God’s Leader at a church in Bristol last week. In September/October, the two Cor Deo events went very well even though the groups were smaller than previously.
*Peter’s new little book, Foundations, came out in September. It is encouraging to hear back from folks that have read it already.
Looking ahead . . .
*Athens – Dec 7-10 – Peter will be spending time with his mentor group from the European Leadership Forum. They will be preaching to one another and receiving feedback and teaching. Please pray for close connections to form quickly in these days together.
*Christmas services at Trinity Chippenham – Peter will be preaching at one of the two Christmas carol services that we have planned this year. Please pray for God to speak through him and that we’ll have lots of visitors and eternal fruit from these services.
*New People at Church - This Sunday is our 100th Sunday gathering as Trinity Chippenham! We have quite a few new people at Trinity. Please pray for them to integrate well into the church family and for us to be a blessing to them. Would you pray for wisdom and love for Peter and the other leaders as they lead the church forward into our third official year as a church.
*January/February Ministry – In January Peter will be co-leading a Cor Deo Intensive, as well as speaking at the OM new recruits’ conference in Germany. Then in February we have our first ever Cor Deo programme for women – four weeks of study. Peter will be helping with elements of this programme too. Please pray for the right people to attend the Cor Deo ministry and for good impact from Peter’s ministry in each of these venues.
With our love,
Peter & Melanie
