Dear <<First Name>>,
Hot off the press . . . About six weeks ago, our landlords informed us they would be selling our house which we’ve rented for the past 5 years. It was a bit of a surprise but we saw it as the start of a new faith adventure! To cut a long story short, the Lord has put it on the heart of a friend, who wanted to invest some money, to co-buy a house with us. Another friend has given us a significant interest-free loan to use as part of a down payment. We are amazed and so incredibly thankful at the way the Lord has worked it all out. We actually put an offer on another house a couple of weeks ago but the Lord clearly shut the door on that option. On Monday, our landlords accepted our offer on the house we currently live in! This house has been such a blessing to us and we have been able to share it with so many others. We are truly content to stay here and are extremely thankful not to have to move again! Also we are glad we can keep relationships going with neighbours and stay more stable as a family. Thank God with us for His very gracious provision for our family.
We realize some of you would like us to share how you might be able to help us financially with this major purchase and some would rather that we not talk about money. So we’ll just say that if you would like to have more financial information, please email us.
Trip to the USA . . .The days of summer have flown by and it’s now less than 24 hours until we leave for the USA! We have a full schedule planned for the 6 weeks – Peter speaking in churches and all of us spending time with family and prayer partners. The children are very excited to see their relatives and experience life in their other “home country.” Please pray for stamina and strength for us, especially Melanie, as she is now 6 months pregnant. And pray also that we would be a blessing to all those we meet with. If you would like a copy of our planned schedule so you can pray for us, please let us know.
Mark Drama – We are thanking God that the dramatic presentation of Mark’s gospel at Trinity Chippenham went extremely well! We are already making plans to do it again next spring. The best part was that one of the cast members trusted Christ as his Saviour! Many believers and also unbelievers were impacted, including one man who has been eagerly coming to church ever since.
Cor Deo – The full-time Cor Deo course has finished for the year and we thank God for all He has done. We have a level one intensive coming up Sep.28th-Oct 2nd. Please let us know if you or someone you know would like to attend. Please pray with us as the Cor Deo team talk and pray about future plans for Cor Deo.
Church Leadership Transition . . . At Trinity Chippenham, we are in the middle of the process where the current “start-up” team will hand over to the new leadership which has been recognized by the church body. The names of those who have been chosen will be announced to the church in the next few weeks. Please pray for unity, soft hearts and a smooth transition in what could be a difficult season for our church family. The new leaders will start serving from 20 September on. We have been continuing to see new faces at church and we are excited about what God is doing. Please pray for growth and health for our church family and for Jesus to be at the centre of everything.
- Thank God with us Peter had an very encouraging time teaching at an OM Ireland outreach for a few days last week.
- We are quite exhausted after a pretty intense and busy past few months. Please pray with us as a couple as we think and pray about our schedule and commitments for the upcoming months and years. We want to pour ourselves out for Jesus but not to burn out!
- Peter has an infection in a cyst on his leg. He is now on his fifth course of antibiotics and it is very slow to heal. Please pray that it will heal and not cause problems on our trip.
Thank you for praying for us and your friendship - it means a lot! As ever, please let us know how we can be praying for you.
With our love,
Peter & Melanie
