Truth & Reconciliation

Krystyna and Barb Downey ringing the bells at Christ Church!

The Bells they Have been ringing!
Thank you to everyone who has been ringing the bells at all three churches! We are about half way through the 1181 rings and there have been a wonderful array of community members involved. You can see photos of the bellringers on our website on the right hand side of front page of the site.

The Community / Anglican Church of Canada Article by Pastor Monique
I was pleased to participate on the final day of activities at the Governor General Residence and wrote a reflection that has been published through the Anglican Church of Canada. I offer it to you HERE

Your continued prayers for the next steps of the TRC will be most helpful! We will have a special service on June 21st to honour National Aboriginal Day of Prayer. Our final bell ringing will take place during all three church services that day. Please consider the following prayer for your own devotions:

In speaking and hearing and acting upon the Truth may we as individuals and as a nation meet the hope of a new beginning.
Great Creator God who desires that all creation live in harmony and peace, Remembering the Children we dare to dream of a Path of Reconciliation where apology from the heart leads to healing of the heart and the chance of restoring the circle, where justice walks with all, where respect leads to true partnership, where the power to change comes from each heart. Hear our prayer of hope, and guide this country of Canada on a new and different path. Amen.

It's Muffin Time at West Carleton Secondary School!
If you can provide some muffins for the first day of exams please do! The students at West love this special treat and they are so appreciative!
Muffin Day is Wednesday June 17th. Please drop off muffins to the Parish Hall kitchen on Tuesday June 16th or between 8am and 9am on Wednesday the 17th.

Last week's service at Christ Church was a lovely time of reconnecting with friends and family.

These services are a wonderful opportunity to honour our history and the generations of parishioners who have gone before us. Please consider inviting a person you might know who has an ancestor buried in one of our cemeteries.

This piece of art was originally located across the front of the church property and includes an iron gate for people to get into the front door of the church and a larger gate that was used to allow horse & buggy to enter into the fenced-in paddock area for the Rector's horse.

Day Off Note...
I just wanted to let everyone know that I am trying to be more conscious of taking some healthy time off during the week. Typically my days off are Monday's and Saturday's unless I have events that happen on Saturday, in which case I attempt to take Friday off instead. If you leave a message or send an email or text I will respond the following day. Thanks tons! Monique
