Here is the latest edition of USCA Tapas for your information and sharing with your membership. Have a good weekend.
What happened in the previous two weeks:
Events/Sport Education
• Register now for the new USA Curling U14 Jamboree.
• Parents are encouraged to help their children take the U.S. Center for SafeSport Youth Training courses online.
• Final plans are being made for the staging of “Sticks & Stones” on the back of Curling Night in America in Raleigh-Durham, N.C. This special event in collaboration with NBC will be held Aug. 26, and will feature teams comprised of USA curlers, NHL players, female USA Hockey stars and NBC commentators. Three one-hour programs will be produced from this event and aired on NBC during next year’s Stanley Cup playoffs.
• Volunteer opportunities are available at the upcoming Curling Night in America event and TV production in Raleigh-Durham, N.C.
• Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been selected as the host site for the 2021 Men’s & Women’s Nationals.
Grants/Sponsorship/Revenue Development
• Goldline has been signed as the new Official Curling Equipment Sponsor and is also backing a new USA Curling “Your First Broom” program for new members.
• Thorne has renewed its sponsorship as the Official Nutritional Supplement and Health & Wellness Provider for USA Curling.
• We have secured a major sponsorship with Jagermeister, primarily tied to Curling Night in America. The Maestroe team was a key part of this sales effort.
• Traveler’s Choice has been named as the Official Luggage Provider for USA Curling. As noted previously, luggage sets were distributed to all athletes and coaches in the High Performance Program, and this week have been sent to those in the Paralympic HPP.
• We have completed a partnership agreement with Rock Solid Productions for “iceless” curling demo and educational products.
• At last count, 20 people from the mainland had registered for Curling with Aloha, a supplementary fundraiser associated with the seventh annual ASB Hawaii Charity Curling Classic, which raises $25,000+ annually for USA Curling as well as $100,000 for a local beneficiary in Hawaii.
Competitive programs
• The Junior Men’s and Women’s HPP teams are attending an off-ice camp at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center this week, while the men’s and women’s HPP teams are in camp in Chaska, Minn.
• The National Wheelchair Team is also in camp this weekend, in Blaine, Minn.
• Terry Davis completed the late summer digital edition of the U.S. Curling News, which is available on the USA Curling web site.
Inside the world of curling
• The U.S. Center of SafeSport Compliance audit field work took place Tuesday at the USA Curling National Office.
• The Key Items of Agreement from the recent USCA Board of Directors meeting have been posted.
What’s up next week:
• Level I Instructor courses are scheduled on Saturday in Lake Worth, Fla., and Syosset, N.Y.
• Curling Night in America competition, Aug. 22-24, Raleigh-Durham, N.C.

• USA’s Tabitha Peterson and Joe Polo will compete in the New Zealand Winter Games, Aug. 23-Sept. 7.
