I will lead her into the desert and speak to her heart.
Hosea 2: 16
We are all on a journey. A journey – if we consent – into the very heart of the Divine... and in great joy come to find that it is a journey into our inmost being. A place of peace, joy, and complete freedom from all fear. Along the way we unlearn a lot of false things that have been handed to us. We tend to complicate God and ourselves. Do not deny yourself from the loving hand of the Divine Goodness. Like the prodigal son, it is all waiting. As Christ says: do not fear... just come home, for God’s sake!
In the midst of this Lenten journey into the desert, it appropriate to ponder the Great Lent: the place of the great themes of life and living, death and dying, redemption, suffering, sin, judgment ... the afterlife, the herenow life. In the fall, there are three retreats to move deeply into these themes – in the silence, in prayer, in community, in a time apart. Why? To be fully alive now!
