WAG NIGHT beer tasting

WaG is a dedicated space for women and gender-variant people to fix their own bikes, with mechanics on hand for help and advice.

Monday 9 June

This isn't exactly bike related, but we've had enough requests that we're gonna try it out - Justina Cruickshanks from the Craft Beer Social Club leads us on a journey of tasty tongue tipplings.

This session will be from 6 – 7:30pm

Depending on how things go, it may not be prudent to hold open workshop afterwards, so we may just socialise till 9 instead!

Only 15 spots are available, tickets are £15, all money goes towards the 6 beers and Justina's tutor fees.

Tour de Tour de France

No, that's not a typo, we're actually organising a 3 day weekend bike tour to ride from London to Paris for the final stage of the Tour de France.

We will leave South London on Friday 25 July, cycle 70k to New Haven, take the overnight ferry to Dieppe. Then cycle 130k on Saturday 26 July where we will end the day camping. On day 3, we will cycle 80k to Paris, where we hope to catch both the women's and men's Tour de France.

You will have to bring your own camping gear and food; and you'll also have to pay for all your own travel (ferry, trains, etc).

The delightful Seb and Kelly will be guiding us once again, and a donation for their work planning and leading the ride would be greatly appreciated.

More details to come, but this will be only open to 20 people as we aim to keep the group small. We will be taking a nominal sum as a deposit once we finalise travel details. Please email to register your interest.

Free Lush Shampoo Bar

Going cycle touring? Lush shampoo bars are great for your hair AND body, cutting down on faff and saving you space during your travels. We've got our grubby little hands on some bars to give away. Just pop into the shop and say the secret password: rub-a-dub-dub! (While stocks last).

Just a note that we will be closed Sunday 13 July for the Dunwich Dynamo. We're gonna pre-party at the shop with coffee shots. Come join us! Represent and wear your LBK jersey! More details to come in next month's newsletter...

Bike Jumblez...

If you'd like to sell your 2nd hand bits, what better place to do it than at your local DIY bike workshop? Make sure your goods are going to a good home, not getting resold on eBay.

ipad Mini Retina for sale

I'm hijacking the newsletter to sell my iPad Mini Retina - it's too much for me. It's a beautiful sexy machine, absolutely nothing's wrong with it, I've only had it for 5 months but barely use it in the way that I thought I would. I think it's time for us to part.

It's wi-fi only, 16gb, space grey. Comes with charger, but I don't have the box anymore. I'll even throw in the fancy Moshi Cover origami case + magnetic cover (worth £40), LyncTek Tru Glide Pro stylus (£15), and screen protector (£10).

The Mini Retina is going for £319 new right now, but for you I'll do £250 for the whole shebang. Email me if you're interested:
Ladies and gentlemen, we've arrived at your final destination. We hope you've had a pleasant read and wish you all the best on your onward journey. In keeping with our Giro theme, I leave you with an Irish rendition of a well loved bicycle song, screened at the Hackney Bicycle Film Society's monthly film night.

ps. Fun fact: This orange background is the actual RGB of Easy Jet's 'safety orange'.
