Hello Lovely Foodies!
I hope you have enjoyed a very Happy Holiday Season! I surely have. I spent Thanksgiving in SC with my grand-kids, and Christmas with my Jersey grand-kids! I feel very blessed. This can be a challenging time of year. I hope you managed to connect with loved ones....wherever they are.
Well, as you’ve surmised by now, I’m not big on sending out monthly newsletters. I only send when I’ve got something important to tell you. Since the New Year is approaching, I wanted to wish you all a blessed year. I pray you heal what needs healing, and experience joy, prosperity, love, peace, and abundance. The New Year is always a very special time for me...a time of introspection, a sign of hope, new goals, cleansing, etc. It’s a time to check in with self....and ask some pertinent questions. Am I the best that I can be? What more can I do? What do I need to own, that I have been avoiding? ...and more...
My lifestyle is focused on being kind to my body and nourishing it with the best ingredients possible. And while my blog and business have been primarily about food, I have become more and more aware of commercial products many of us use daily, which contain carcinogens and other toxic chemicals. In the process, I discovered an amazing company, Beautycounter. They are really more of a movement than a business. Their mission is to educate and empower...and to change current laws and regulations.
Did you know that while Europe bans 1500 ingredients from personal care products, the US bans 30? YES...30! SHOCKING!! I was lucky, as my daughter, who I know and trust, turned me into this fabulous product line. I initially noticed her appearance was changing. She looked radiant. I didn’t have to second guess what she said, as I could see. I’m hoping that you know me well enough, to know at age 61, I’d never consider jumping on this bandwagon, unless I was a true believer in the mission. I am! I’m so thrilled with products, results, and company mission...I had to share. I had to share with you!
Because its the start of a new year, I’m going to ask you to do two things for me, (but, really, it's for yourself).
1 - Please take a moment and go to this independent site, www.ewg.org and search for your current products. This site rates and verifies products according to a much higher standard than required in the US. Only the very best can be EWG Verified. Look up Beautycounter while you are there and see where their products are rated. Remember this, my dear friends, skin is the largest organ you have. You should know what you are slathering all over it, no?...I was a coconut oil girl, but skin cannot live on coconut oil alone. Like your body, it needs to be nourished, and cleansed. And since I've started using Beautycounter cleansers, moisturizers, oils, etc, my skin LOOKS nourished. And people have noticed. When I walked into the Dr. office and other places, there are comments..."Wow, you look fantastic..you are glowing." I love it! So yes, I believe FOOD is a major key to healing...but let's not forget our beautiful, precious SKIN!
2 - Check Out BEAUTYCOUNTER - www.beautycounter.com/barbarakessler. I can tell you BOTH of my daughters and I have been transformed, noticing improvement almost immediately...and the peace of mind knowing these products are safe. (My daughter sporting the Charcoal Detox Mask).
***Right now there’s also a 30% off Winter Sale. Use Code - WINTERSALE for discount on specific products.
