This coming Sunday, May 1, I will be doing something I have not done since 2008... giving a recital! Yes, I have performed a gazillion times since then, but it has been a very long time since I have prepared difficult solo / chamber repertoire featuring cello and I thought it was time to give it a go. So please come! Details below.
Also I will be attending Esh Circus Arts' adults summer intensive in July, and so I will be giving my first performance on aerial silks July 29! Details TBA, but I know the performance will be at the Somerville Armory.
And of course, Karma Longtin and I will be leading our yoga retreat to Vermont again this summer! August 4-7.
I hope you are all having a wonderful spring in New England!

Almost a Cello Recital!
With Rachel Barringer and Friends
Sunday, May 1
The Nave Gallery Series @
Clarendon Hill Church
The last time I played an actual cello recital was at Longy in 2008 (meaning difficult solo stuff / difficult chamber music featuring the cello), so this is kind of a big deal for me! I'm very excited to be playing with my incredibly talented friends. The only reason it's "almost" a cello recital is because there is one piece sans cello. But here is the lineup:
"The Jet Whistle" by Heitor Villa-Lobos (cello/flute)
"Cendres" by Kaija Saariaho (alto flute/cello/piano)
"Reve en Noir" by Paul Elwood (flute/piano/electronics)
"Sonata" by Elliott Carter (cello/piano) --this piece I am SO EXCITED ABOUT!!
Performers: Andrea Lieberherr-Douglass (alto flute), Trevor Berens (piano), Kristen Dye (flute), and Emilio Carlos Gonzalez (piano) !
155 Powderhouse Blvd
Somerville, MA 02144
$10 at the door!
