Christmas Island, Kiritimati

Bonefish Heaven!
Packages fom $3925pp (ex Sydney)

Just a tiny spec in the vastness of the South Pacific Ocean, Christmas Island (Kiritimati) is one of those places that you need to see while it still exists! On the one hand the whole island is in danger if disappearing due to the effects of global warming and on the other, this is a place which has one of the most incredible stocks of Bonefish in the world! Home to a population of only 5,000 people this is the largest island in the Republic of Kiribati and is largest land mass of a coral atoll in the world. For such a tiny place, Kiritimati has many very individual features. At present the island draws very few tourists (which is a great feature to some), the few visitors who do come here are focused on either scuba diving the untouched waters or casting flies for Bonefish. There is a small network of professional fishing guides on the island who are 2nd and 3rd generation fishermen with the best eyes for spotting Bones in the flats. Packages to Kiritimati include return flights from Australia, all accommodation and meals on Christmas Island and even a stopover in Fiji before returning to Australia! This is an experience which is unparalleled by any other. ENQUIRE NOW

Bay of Islands,
New Zealand

The best place to chase Kingfish
From just $1055 per day

The Bay of Islands is located on the north-east cost of New Zealand's north island. The area is located around 3 hours north of Auckland and boasts features such as 144 islands dotted with secluded beaches, spectacular scenery and some incredible fishing. Although your main target for visiting the area may be the Yellowtail Kingfish, there are many other available species to compliment your target fish including Snapper, Hapuka, Trevally, Mao Mao, Golden Snapper, Marlin, Tuna, John Dory and Kahawai (NZ's trout of the sea). Live baiting for Yellowtail Kingfish is our skipper's specialty and these are reputed to be one of the hardest fighting fish in the ocean - not to mention that the live baits are also known to attract sharks at certain times of year, just adding to the excitement of your day on the water. There is a great range of accommodation available in the Bay of Islands which can be added to your trip specifically to suit your budget. Whether you are just passing through on a trip around the north island or this destination will be your focus, the Bay of Islands is sure to impress. From great fishing to incredible scenery, this is one of those places that has it all! ENQUIRE NOW
