Dive Samoa

Hard Corals, Turtles & Wrecks

2014 will see Fishing Getaways release a range of Scuba Diving packages to the market with Savaii Island in Samoa being the first. Savaii is the larger island of the 2 main populated islands in Samoa and it offers some spectacular diving opportunities on top of the fabulous fishing waters. Within minutes of leaving the beach you are diving amongst some spectacular coral gardens with a Missionary Wreck site located only minutes from the shore.
The dive operation itself is operated by a fantastic team and Snorkellers are also welcomed on board. The dive gear on offer is good quality with thorough dive briefs and responsible diving practices being paramount with this operator. Trips can be diving focused or diving can be offered as an additional activity for your Samoan holiday.

Christmas Is. Bonefish

Remote Bonefishing Paradise

In March 2014, Gordon Howlett - Managing Director of Fishing Getaways ventured off our shores to visit the famed Christmas Island in search of Bonefish. Working with the South Pacific Tourism Organisation, Gordon found a destination which is completely untouched and remote which has a treasure trove of Bonefish to be caught. Gordon is not a keen fly fisher, but with the help of wonderful guides in the location and some incredible fish stocks, he managed to pull in his first Bonefish in this wonderful location. "Christmas Island really is a bonefishing paradise" are the words he returned with along with a passion to offer this new destination to the Fishing Getaways customers. Packages are currently being put together for release at the upcoming annual BIA Melbourne Boat Show in June 2014. If you have been searching for the fly fishing mecca, then watch this space because Gordon believes that he has found it!
