Vanuatu needs your business

Cyclone Pam made a devastating mess of Vanuatu but after a nervous week I have made contact with our operators and received some great news. A week before Pam arrived, they decided to take both boats out of the water and harm’s way. Boats left in the harbour had major damage while our boats are currently simply going through normal maintenance such as anti fouling before going back into the water and being ready for charters by the end of March. This will match with a number of the accommodation facilities who are stating they will be back to normal business by April.

In talking to our operator a number of things came through.

The fact that their staff all sustained damage to their homes, but were all safe and were getting back on their feet.

The local people are just amazing and are still happy.

And thirdly they need to get the word out that Vanuatu is still a great place to come fishing.

As a result we have put together two packages to fish the Vanuatu waters, one we call our long weekend and the other the week package. In putting these together, we have looked closely at the flights which go directly from Sydney or Brisbane but not Melbourne unfortunately. But it is still only a 6-7 hour travel time from Melbourne or 3.5hr from Sydney.

Weekend package includes:
Returned international airfares
3 nights' accommodation
2 Full day charter fishing including light breakfast, light snacks, lunch, drinks and use of all fishing tackle on board 34ft Blackwatch or Kevlacat boats with quality skipper and crew.
Meet and greet at airport
All transfers within Vanuatu and taxes
Cost based on 4 anglers                    $2275.00
Depart Friday return Monday

Week Package:
Returned international airfares
6 nights' accommodation
4 full day charter fishing including light breakfast, light snacks, lunch, drinks and use of all fishing tackle on board 34ft Blackwatch or Kevlacat boats with quality skipper and crew.
Meet and greet at airport
All transfers within Vanuatu and taxes
Cost based on 4 anglers                     $3425.00
Depart Sunday return Friday

Looking at the season guide to plan your trip April and May are good for Blue Marlin as well as July and August. April to June is the best month for Yellowfin with June to September being best for Wahoo and Mahi Mahi. And if it is Dog tooth Tuna you are after name your own month as is the case for GT's. With a number of their operators out of order dates will go fast so let us know if you are interested in a trip. We have also decided to put together some share charter dates for those who do not have a group of four to make up a trip. The first four individuals or group get the dates:
8th -11th May 2015
19th - 24th July 2015

Blue Fin Tuna - 22nd-24th May

This is our top weekend over the last 3 years producing fish to 144kg along with bagging out in the first 2 hours of Saturday with fish up to 30kg. Yes it is in late May and yes it is at the bottom of Tasmania and is a bit cold but when you have the lines in the water just 20 minutes from leaving the jetty , you are in for a fun full day.

This year we have access to two top boats and arrange for your fish to be cleaned and packed to come back home at the end of the weekend.

All top quality gear, skipper, accommodation, breakfast and lunches are provided. All you need to provide is drinking and dinner money, fishing muscles, the weekend and the funds of $1295 for this great fishing weekend.
