Western Port Snapper Fishing
Our boat provides a steady platform for catching snapper in the Westernport. While she may not be the fastest in the fleet, your expert skipper will put you onto the right spots. Included with this vessel is all quality Shimano & Penn gear and instead of the traditional charter boat BBQ, they will provide you with lunch of tasty roast beef rolls for something different.
All of your fish will be bagged for you to cook nice and fresh at the conclusion of your trip, we have also come to an agreement with the owner that for the normal price of $110 per person will get a six hour charter being an extra hour on the water than booking direct. Their supply of tea and coffee is also very endless. We have also arranged a share charter on the 11th December 2016, the boat takes a maximum of 8 pax on any trip.
Many people think of just Darwin for the mighty Barramundi and certainly there is some great options up there but Cooktown provides another option, just hours north of Cairns. Named after Captain Cook as this is where he landed to repair his ship after damaging it on the Great Barrier Reef the history of the town is also of great interest. Utilizes the 6 meter Hooker boat which caters comfortably for 3 anglers the decision is to head out to the reef for sports fishing and reef fishing for species such as coral trout, red emperor, Queenfish Trevally or tuna.
The other option of course is to head up the rivers for the mighty Barra and Mangrove Jacks. The best seasons for these are coming up between September and November and are the week before the Full Moon. Feb to April is not bad either the metre Barra are often caught by anglers. One of the nice things about this charter if you are not far from Cooktown you can come back to town for lunch and stretch your legs rather than spend all day in the boat.
The accommodation at the Sovereign Resort is walking distance to everything in town and there is a number of restaurants who will cook up your catch of the day for you. We have a package based on 3 anglers for $2025 per person includes flights to Cairns.
