Internship Program in the US for Young Spanish Graduates

About the program

The Ministries of Employment and Education, along with the Embassy of Spain in Washington DC, announce the launch of the US Internship Program 2017, a pilot program for young Spanish graduates, who have finished their studies in the fields of science and/or engineering in Spanish universities.

The program will provide around 25 scholarships to Spanish graduates wishing to perform 6-12 months internships with US-based companies. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of $2.500 to cover living expenses in the US.

Program Conditions

  • Participating companies will offer a minimum monthly stipend of $2.500 to the selected candidate for living expenses in the US.
  • Candidates need to pay for their flying tickets, Visa application and health insurance fees. Information and assistance will be provided for obtaining the requested Visa and health insurance.

Who can participate?

  • Individuals with Spanish nationality
  • Have Bachelor degree in Science and/or Engineering from Spanish universities ranked among the top 500 in "Science" and "Engineering" specializations in the QS rankings, THE and Shangai  (see Annex I). (Check the participating Universities and disciplines). 
  • Have completed a graduate or postgradute degree in the last 12 months before this publication.
  • Present supporting evidence of B2 or higher English level, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR).
  • Being available within 15 days after candidates are informed to begin the internship at the US-Based company. (The selection process will not start before November 2016).

Candidates must submit their application and all the supporting documents to the University where they graduated from.
