Cutting faux fur with a seam ripper

It's October—a month filled with changing colors, pumpkin spice lattes, and some out-of-the-ordinary sewing projects. This month we will be sharing our collection of Halloween inspired Snippets. If you have some spooky tips of your own, send them our way! First up is a tip for cutting faux fur.

To avoid making a huge mess when cutting faux fur use a seam ripper instead of shears. Simply trace your pattern's shape onto the wrong side of the fur and seam-rip down the lines. This technique will just cut the woven portion of your fabric and not give your fur a haircut.

Quick note: Last week's Snippets had a slight typo. A sewing machine presser foot was incorrectly spelled as pressure. Sorry about that!
