Annex Cat Rescue is fast-approaching its biggest fundraiser of the year: the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon.

Every dollar raised goes toward vet bills.

A very generous donor pledged to match all dollars raised up to $20,000. And guess what? We did it! Sincere thanks to James L. and his very kind heart.

As an incentive to raise even more money, James has offered an additional $5,000, matching our fundraising up to $25,000!

With just three weeks to go, we still have time... please consider donating so we can raise over $50,000 to help Toronto's most vulnerable homeless cats.

Thank you!

Adopt me: Blake

Looking for a friend for hide-and-go-seek

Smokey grey Blake is an endearing and mischievous boy. This rascal loves to hide under blankets and furniture to ambush passing felines and humans! Affectionate, but cautious, Blake is learning to accept pets from his foster family. He dearly loves his siblings and should be adopted with at least one.

A nail-biting week led to four rescued kitties

Last month, a homeowner contacted us about a feral mom and her four kittens who had taken up residence in her backyard. The kittens were too young to be separated from their mom, so we advised the homeowner to get the mom on a feeding schedule and stay in touch. We had a nail-biting week... but, it all ended perfectly. Read all about it!

Reminder about overwinter shelters

Now is the time to act on helping your colony cats stay warm throughout the coming cold months. Remember to replace and refresh the straw in their overwinter shelters. Check for straw at pet supply stores and garden centres. We'll publish dates for Fall and Winter shelter building workshops as soon as they're available.

Watch for shelter building workshops from Toronto Street Cats

Happy Tail: Smaug

"He's basically a baby dragon."

Smaug was found by ACR near a colony early last summer. Friendly and trusting, he was brought in to be fostered until he found a forever home. Thanks to Hana and her partner, he has! They met Smaug at his foster home (where he was almost a foster fail) and knew he was perfect when he greeted them by rolling over for a belly rub.
