Dear <<First Name>>,

I'm writing to any VSA  returned volunteers who may have had an education assignment or even just some interest in the education sector generally (our records are not perfect, so apologies if I've got this wrong in your case!). Anyway, if you know any secondary teachers or have contacts with people in the education sector, we'd be grateful if you could help us share some news that will interest anyone involved in teaching or curriculum development, especially in the social sciences/civics at secondary level.

VSA for Schools: a digital resource for teachers & students

Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA) has launched its first digital school resource, VSA for Schools. The resource has been developed for teachers and students of social sciences mainly in Years 9 and 10. It focuses on the Pacific and is structured around the social inquiry model today's teachers are familiar with. The resource features some really great case studies that give a human perspective to some of the social issues faced by people in the perspective.

The key aim of this resource is to help teachers look in more depth about community development issues in the Pacific, but it is also a good way to help young New Zealanders appreciate the power of volunteering and the kind of work of VSA does.  There's more on the resource on our website here: https://vsa.org.nz/about-vsa/news/volunteer-service-abroad-launches-resource-for-schools/

Teachers (and anybody interested in some good case studies!) can find the resource itself here: https://vsa.org.nz/schools/. VSA would love to get feedback from teachers or students on how we can improve or add value to the resource. For more information about the resource please contact schools@vsa.org.nz.

So, sorry to bother you, but if you know anybody at all you think might be interested, we'd be really grateful if you could share the news and ask them to pass it on to others as well!

Thanks, and kind regards,

Alastair Gordon
