11/04/2020

all about your november beer club

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like.....

The perfect time to cozy up inside with a warming brew. You thought we were going to say something else, didn't you? Well, to ease into the holiday season, we are going to take a trip through Germany and Denmark. Experience two different breweries that display their rich history and unique, eco-friendly brewing tactics, in the form of liquid gold.

If you would like to utilize our curbside pick-up option for your club at Metro, please call us at 907-569-3800 [ext. 1] to coordinate. We will get your name and pull your items. To use this option, the name on the ID must match the name of the club subscription.

Bøgedal Stout’ish

Down to Earth

A tantalizing dark brew from Scandinavia's only 'all-gravity' brewery. Each beer is boiled over firewood in a kettle shaped like a bull's head. By restricting the reliance on technology, each brew flows freely from vat to vessel without pumping and without temperature control. This allows for the beer to live its own life and develop naturally. Even with the same recipes, no brew is identical thus each one is labeled with its own batch number.

Before you sits Batch No. 653. Delicately soft and gentle body, yet with a powerful noise. Notes of bittersweet chocolate, slight coffee bitterness and residual sugar on the tongue lead to a warming, tranquil finish.

Mahr's brÄu weisser bock

Prost for Mother Earth!

In beautiful, historical Bamberg, lies this tiny German brewery. To stay true to the saying, "Home is simply at home.", Mahr's Bräu specifically selects raw goods and ingredients from impartially certified cultivators within the region. They also utilize green energy only as another part of their commitment to the environment. They could always go down the cheaper, easier way of brewing, but what good would that do for the planet?

One result of their eco-friendly brewing is the Weisser Bock. A true rarity with its dark, lightly red-tinged, brown color and cascading veil of yeast. Boasts a palate of complex fruitiness that unveils a touch of sweetness in addition to the subtle maltiness. Mildly bitter, full-bodied taste, paired with a pleasant rich texture.
